Hi.
Wanted to give you a very quick win just at the start.
So you have something to take away with you from the get go - and it’s this: when we use contractions in speaking we’ll often say things like can’t instead of cannot, I’m instead of I am and this is very common and very normal in everyday speech but there is a very slight danger of mis-hearing or getting something wrong and it’s in these situations where someone says could’ve, should’ve, would’ve.
What they’re actually abbreviating is could have, should have, and would have.
They’re not saying could of, should of, and would of.
So if somebody says to you I would’ve baked a cake if I knew you were coming.
They’re saying in the long version I would have baked a cake and not I would of baked a cake.
So now you know - let’s carry on.
