Volume

If you focused just on changing your speed I bet you were able to do it.

It’s not that hard to do any of this stuff if you focus on one thing at a time.

Now I want you to focus on volume.

I want you to very consciously try to change the volume of your speech.

Sometimes get a little bit louder for emphasis.

Sometimes a little softer.

Don’t worry about the speed dial though.

I think what you’ll find is now that you practice changing the speed and you’re focusing on the volume the two will go together and you’ll create more variation in your voice.

The speed and the volume will both be up and down and change.

There will be variety and that’s what will make you more conversational sound like a real person and not sound like you’re a robot reading at the same volume.

So do it now give your same speech again.

Again we only need one minute recorded on video but I want you very consciously trying to change the volume in certain words and if you need to even make notes on your teleprompter script that’s OK.

Any way that works for you all that matters are the results for your audience.

How ever it happens for you doesn’t really matter as long as the change is seen by the audience so record now and this time very consciously change the volume.
