If You Teach English Grammar, This Is For You

Hello, fellow teacher.

If you’re sending your pupils to this course to help them learn English and English grammar, then thank you very much.

Your support is hugely appreciated.

I thought it would be a good idea for us to have a kind of teacher to teacher talk about the best ways in which we can help and support your pupils in their learning development.

Now the course is not intended to be taken sequentially from start to finish.

It’s more of a sort of pick and mix approach.

So for example, if your pupils need a bit of help with say pronouns, then go to the nouns section, down to the pronouns lesson and that’s the one they should look at.

Or another example, if say aspects and tenses - then they really want some more help with say present perfect continuous then go to that section, present perfect continuous and that’s the lesson they should look at.

The exception to this is the beginners’ section at the very beginning.

Now this is really for very early learners and is intended to be taken sequentially from start to finish.

And the reason for this is fairly straightforward.

If you’re for instance talking about telling the time, well, we can’t do that before we’ve done numbers that we need to tell the time and there’s 14 in total and the way this has been set out is that I will say something, there will be a gap for them to repeat it, I’ll say again, they can repeat it again.

Now some learners will find this too slow and maybe in the later sections, they might find it too fast.

But thankfully Udemy has thought of this and down here somewhere there is a speed control.

So for those people who find it too slow maybe turn it up to say one and a quarter one and a half times speed.

And that should make it easier or better for them and for those people who find it too fast, maybe take it down a bit to say three quarters speed and that should help them.

Now the other thing I’ve done to help them is every single lesson has a downloadable PDF with resources and examples for that lesson.

So I would encourage the students to download these resources and look at them offline.
