You’ve heard me say that I’ve been to countless weddings where the person getting up to give the speech doesn’t do that.

The first thing people do is oh my gosh I’m so nervous.

What they’re really saying is me me me me it’s all about me.

I understand you may feel nervous but don’t waste time talking about how nervous you are.

People know you’re nervous or they just don’t care if you’re nervous.

It’s not about you you’re not getting married today.

So focus on the bride.

Focus on the groom.

Make this a special moment about them and whatever you do don’t waste time talking about the fact that you’re nervous don’t talk a bout your speech just speak don’t talk about.

Well I was I was way around last night thinking about what all I’m going to say in my pithy speech to the don’t talk about your speech it sounds pompous don’t talk about how you feel about your speech don’t talk about being nervous just speak tell people about this wonderful ride this wonderful groom why they’re special to you.

Focus on your audience and guess what.

You’re not even going to be able to feel nervous because you’re feeling happiness for the bride and groom.

Focus on the happiness you’re feeling for them and your nerves.

It don’t completely melt away they won’t percolate up to the top your happiness will be what’s on top.
