Project Your Best Face on Skype and Zoom

Skype has been around a long time.

A lot of people like to use Zoom.

These days WebEx is still around.

I’m not here to proselytize for any one format of online video communication but I do want you to think about how you can choose one of those or whatever is is flexible and convenient for your client or prospect and to make that a default form of communication.

To many people in too many organizations have a hierarchy where print or texting or email is the first format telephone or texting is the second format and only if it’s like a really special occasion.

Do we somehow do things on video.

Why again.

There used to be a time when you had to have a whole special room for this and extra costs and satellite to have any of that anymore.

You can do a Skype video meeting conference whatever you want to call it a call.

Also on Face Time with the push of a button what holds back so many people is what we talked about in those initial lessons in this cause they’re not comfortable with how they look and how they sound.

That’s why the more you get people starting in this used to this it creates a cycle of virtue the more you do it the more comfortable you get the more you want to do it the better you get more comfortable you get the more you want to do it it just goes on and on in a positive way.

So that’s why in my own business.

Anytime someone calls me I very quickly say Could we take this to Skype and it just makes them more comfortable it’s easier for people to understand you can see the body language you can see the lips moving.

If someone’s e-mailing me questions I’ll ask Can we call back on Skype video.

Could you zoom anything else as well.

So these are all tools they’ve been around for a while.

The change I’m trying to have you really think about is how to make it more of a default.

A primary mode of communication not just an extra thing for something special.
