The Right Way to Put Someone On Hold

Excuse me one moment.

I have a sick child.

School and I’m just waiting on a call from the school may I put you on hold for one moment please.

That’s how you should ask someone to be put on hold.

Don’t just say hang on a minute.

Oh I’ve got to take it.

If you just say that what you’re telling the client customer boss is hey you’re not really very important that anybody even a telemarketer is more important than you.

It’s very insulting to someone so my recommendation don’t put people on hold.

But if you have to ask and give them a reason.

If you do that then you come across as very respectful polite.

It’s much easier on their ego to have a better perception of you and they’re not going to think you’re rude.
