You Will Never Give Another PowerPoint Presentation

You’re not giving a PowerPoint presentation you’re giving your presentation.

You’re giving a presentation about your ideas about your business your organization your cause the PowerPoint is simply a tool it’s a device.

Right now I’m using a video camera but this isn’t a video camera presentation.

This is a presentation to help you deliver PowerPoint presentations effectively.

I’m using lights but this isn’t a light presentation.

I’m using electricity but this isn’t an electricity presentation.

This is a presentation.

Now why is this so important.

Here’s my experience.

The second you tell yourself I’m giving a PowerPoint presentation.

It causes a lot of problems.

You stop doing things you normally do well in conversation in presentations and speeches and talks and you start focusing all your energy on bullet points and rearranging bullet points and rearranging colors and logos and the whole fixation is on slides.

If you do that you’ve already lost the game.

You’ve basically guaranteed that you will not be communicating.

Ask yourself this How often have you left a convention conference a professional association meeting and people were walking out of that room saying wow that was a great PowerPoint.

It was a great collection of PowerPoint slides.

In my experience that doesn’t really happen.

What does happen is people walk away saying great presentation great passion.

Can you believe when he or she said boom boom boom.

Can you believe those stories about.

That’s what sticks with people.

Now I’m not a. PowerPoint he used PowerPoint all the time PowerPoint can be great but it’s just a tool to help you with your primary objective.

You actually presenting your ideas to your audience.
