What’s the perfect number of PowerPoint slides and a PowerPoint presentation.

People ask me this all the time.

They’re expecting me to say well it’s 10 or it’s three or it’s twenty seven.

The answer is it’s the perfect number that your audience remembers.

If they can’t remember your slides even if you only have two slides you have two too many on the other hand if you have one hundred and seventeen slides and your audience remembers all one hundred and seventeen.

Then the perfect number for you was one hundred and seventeen.

Now I have a hard time remembering anytime an audience remembers more than a handful of slides.

So be very very careful if you have more than that.

And again as with all of these tips test doesn’t matter what I think it doesn’t matter what you think it doesn’t matter what’s easy for you to store your notes.

What matters is what does the audience actually understand.

And remember if they’re not remembering it the slide is worthless.

Throw it in the trash can.

Or give it as a handout.

Email it to the but don’t project it.
