Don't Forget the Occasional Prop

Computers are powerful they get more powerful all the time cost goes down.

But remember when you’re giving a PowerPoint presentation there may still be something else that will help convey an idea more powerfully in a visual way.

Nobody had more money for presentations than Steve Jobs when he was CEO of Apple and he did a great job with presentations.

He has a fantastic reputation.

He used Apple’s version of PowerPoint keynote.

But even Steve Jobs realized sometimes the image you put up on a screen is not the most powerful image.

So when he wanted to demonstrate how light and thin one of his new laptops was.

He didn’t just put up an image or a video on a screen.

He said how thin is it.

He walked over to a table picked up an envelope pulled the thin laptop out of the envelope.

So that was much more powerful.

A 50 cent envelope prop conveyed the message that this thing is incredibly thin much more powerfully than if you just put up statistics on one eighth of an inch thickness on a screen.

So even though you’re using PowerPoint don’t forget there may be other props you want to incorporate in the middle of your PowerPoint presentation.
