Quick tip on how to make a great start when you’re delivering a PowerPoint presentation

don’t show a single slide, The first two minutes of your presentation.

just come out stand in front of people.

No lector not behind a table.

Talk to them.

Tell them one interesting idea you have for them today.

Engage them at some level.

Then and only then show the first slide.

Because so many people in your audience have such negative feelings about PowerPoint, because so many people get awful boring data dump PowerPoint presentations.

So if you walk up there and there’s a slide, the first thing you do is go to the next slide in their gut they’re gonna think, oh no this is going to be awful.

This is gonna be boring.
