What else do reporters really love when they’re looking for quotes and soundbites from you.

Emotion.

Anytime you can talk about how you feel about the subject at hand it’s going to make it more interesting to the reporter so if you love something hate something or dreading something worried about something that’s going to make it more interesting quotable to the reporter.

Remember reporters are supposed to be dispassionate.

They’re not supposed to be emotional.

They must share an opinion journalist can’t talk about or just right or state their own emotions.

But they love quoting you other experts newsmakers saying how they feel about something so don’t try to be dry and dispassionate.

If you’re the one being interviewed let your emotions flow as long as it’s on your message.

Caveat with all of these sound bites is it’s only good if it’s 100 percent on your message please don’t forget that.
