Holy moly that was a big section just a lot of science for you to remember right.

We talked about the very important concept of focus versus diffused mode of thinking and how learning

happens by going back and forth back and forth between these two things.

We learned about how important sleep is and the science of sleep.

We learned that the brain can be trained just like a muscle and that we need to constantly improve it.

Otherwise it’s going to deteriorate.

We learned that feedback is absolutely crucial to learning and sometimes negative feedback might be

better than positive feedback.

We learned that procrastination has to do with our emotions with our brains trying to avoid that negative

feeling and how to overcome it.

We learned about long and short term memory and how we can use a short term memory to improve our long

term memory.

We learned about active versus passive learning how passive learning is easy but not necessarily as

effective as active learning of testing practicing while you learn we learned about the science of motivation.

Motivation is important and especially intrinsic motivation motivation that comes from the inside is

important for long term growth and learning.

We learned about goals and how important they are for us to write down our goals and have specific clear

goals that allow us to have a roadmap to success.

We learned that being busy is not necessarily a good thing.

As a matter of fact if you find your life busy then there’s ways that you should improve and remove

things from your life so that you give yourself a break.

We learned about chunking how we can connect different pieces of information in novel ways to form unique

concepts and ideas.

This idea of using principles and foundations to form new pieces of knowledge.

We learned how to solve problems that we can solve problems and focus mode and diffuse mode that there’s

different techniques for solving problems.

But at the end of the day the ability for you to solve problems.

It’s what’s going to make you successful in the future.

We learned about a very important concept of deliberate practice.

This idea that when we practice we have to be right at the edge of our abilities to be uncomfortable

and really push ourselves to the edge and also have mentors or coaches in order for us to get immediate

feedback of how we can improve.

To always push further and further we learned about the important concept of spaced repetition.

This idea that we repeat things over and over and over spanning across multiple days weeks or months

in order to form those long term memories we learned that habits are simply energy saving mechanisms

of our brain.

It allows us to do things without using our brain too much so that our brain can focus on learning.

We learned that being adventurous is a good thing.

Having new unique experiences being surrounded by things that stimulate us actually makes our brain

remember things and learn things better.

And then finally we learned that being bored is not a bad thing.

Being bored sometimes can be good for our brain at the end of it all.

What we learned in this section is that our brain is not static that is we’re not born with a type of

rain and that’s what we have for the rest of our lives.

The brain is a fluid thing it’s constantly changing it’s constantly growing constantly deteriorating

and while we do with our brain just like our body just like our muscles is up to us we can choose to

improve it or we can choose to just let it deteriorate.

The choice is up to you and I hope by the end of this section you’re convinced more than ever that it’s

something that we can take care of.

In the next section we’re going to learn how to take care of our brain.

The techniques that allow us to use what we’ve just learned to become efficient learners.

I’ll see in the next one by.
